Pita chips and Black Bean Dip

Without question, this is my favourite healthy alternative to those salty, crunchy and sinfully delicious snacks you find at summer BBQ's and Sunday football games.  The Pita Chips and Black Bean dip is easy to make and really does taste great.

Dip
2 cans of black beans
1/3 cup of non-fat sour cream
1 tsp of cilantro
1 tbsp of lime juice
1/3 cup of chopped onion

Chips
6 whole wheat pita bread rounds
Pam cooking spray
Garlic powder

Combine and puree all the ingredients for the dip. Add Tobasco or Franks Red Hot Sauce for a more spicy dip.

Separate the pita into two large round pieces. Cut up the pita bread into the desired number or size of chips. Lay them on a baking tray with the inside facing up. Spray them with Pam and sprinkle on the garlic powder. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes at 430 degrees or until at the desired crispiness.
